Something that needs to be said

So, something has been bugging me a lot lately. The 'human dolls' craze that is currently going on in the world. The craze itself isn't bugging me, nor are the girls - they all look fantastic.

What's bugging me is when I constantly hear "Oh, you've copied that Russian girl" etc.

It was the final straw yesterday, when I was out walking Luna and asked a random woman what time it was. She said "I love your makeup, you're copying that style aren't you? That Russian barbie style. You've got the lenses and everything just like her, even the bindi. You've done really good." ....

That's the part that's bugging me. I've looked like this for over 5 years. It's so frustrating to constantly hear how I'm copying someone when I've put years of my life into this style. I've been here with it, as it developed across the world and in Japan. When I first started out, there weren't many resources for us to use. The only extreme ones were manba, that we knew about. And now these girls come along, see it and copy it (I'm not saying from me, but from anyone). They didn't have to work with it, they just picked up the final product and slapped it on their faces. Which isn't a bad thing at all, they all do it so well and are like a million times prettier etc. I just wish people would stop thinking I'm copying them, when I've put so much effort in.

Anyway, I never even heard about these human dolls until about one month ago when I got back from Romania. I saw lot's of comments about the show I was on saying "She's a fake valery and Anastasia" (Can't remember their names). The thing is, I was really proud of the 'big eye makeup'. I had never seen it done before, not even in Japan (The extreme big eyes). I had like an epiphany moment when I thought of it and tried it out for the first time. I was so proud of it. I'm not saying the 'anime girl' stole the idea from me. There were probably people who did it before me! But it's heartbreaking to hear how I've 'copied' it from someone who only recently started doing it. Also, there's a fan page that is pretending to be me. It posts on a 'Human Dolls' fan page and 'likes' lots of other pages. I just want you all to know, that isn't me!

But here is what I actually wanted to write this post about:

I was recently approached by someone who claimed they wanted to become a sort of manager for me. They claimed they work with those two main girls and could put me up there with them. The only problem was my personality. They told me I would need to 'act more strange to match your appearance'. They said I'm 'too down to Earth' and it's off-putting to people because it ruins their fantasy. They told me I would need to claim I was extremely spiritual and act 'much more superior' to other people. I'd need to create a 'tight-knit' friendship with the other 2 girls. They also basically said I should stop talking about Japanese Gyaru fashion and not give credit to outside sources (where I get my inspiration from). They said I should play on the fact I'm Hindu and become an 'animal-loving vegetarian'...... they can't have researched me too well because I am already an animal loving vegetarian!

It wasn't just the personality though, they offered to pay for surgery to change my face and body. That part was just casually slipped into the conversation though, like it's obvious they'd expect me to have it done.

I'm not saying this is what happened to these girls, but I can guarantee it won't be happening to me. I felt like I needed to share this with you. We should never let our appearance define who we are. I've always said I'll never let anyone change who I am as a person. I just want to put a sort of warning out there for everyone in case you get 'scouted' or whatever.

I don't know if I'll get in to trouble for publishing this, it's obvious why they told me to keep it a secret but my conscience got the better of me.

You never know, this could have been a scam or something. It seemed very real and they were very convincing (the person who contacted me), but just don't take all of this as a definite truth!

I'll be updating soon <3

    1. Aw thanks. Neton keeps saying that too. I do think they might have had inspiration from similar places as me though (Gyaru) <3

  2. Darling, you do it far better than those 'russian dolls', and nobody even comes close to the way you look. Your style, your make up, and your wonderful personality are what set you apart from everyone else.

    1. Thanks for saying so! It was very tempting but there is no way I could become a fake person in order to be world famous. <3

  7. You're so damn right! Recently I'm also hearing many things about those two girls. It's getting on my nerves and it doesn't have anything to do with Gyaru. So those people should stop to compare us gals -.-.

Wow you got scouted? I can understand why you don't want to do that. It would be like disguising. I can't understand why those two girls are doing this. They seems so fake (and I don't even mean their surgeries haha). I like your personality and you are doing great in declining this offer ^.^

    1. I know, I don't know what to do anymore! I don't want to keep walking around and getting accused of copying. I might need to just find a different style..... but Gyaru is my passion! I really dunno what to do!

I always say, looking fake isn't a bad thing. Being fake on the inside can sometimes be a different story. I really hope those girls get away from that manager person!

And thank you so much! <3

  8. You've been through quite a lot Lhouraii! There's nothing wrong or illegal telling on your blog about things that have happened, even if someone has told you to keep secrets, you're free to tell anyone anything about your life, so don't worry.

    1. Thank you! Well, I never tell secrets but this just seemed different.

If it's true it means they've basically scammed the entire world in to believing they're 'real'. <3

  16. Thank you for being your true (and awesome!) self ^.^ you're very inspirational and a lesson should be learned here that these copycats are just some fail hype! It must have been so awkward to be contacted like that! It only proves how fake this barbie fad is!

  17. Wow. That's shocking. I had been doing research on Valeria (for psychology purposes). Of course I figured put everything was false..I don't mind her fake looks, but a fake persona really annoys me. Glad you didn't give into that manager. I think your style is original and your the first one I discovered in the gal comm. I can see how being compared to someone who didn't have to go through the hardships of having such a style would become frustrating. Sorry for the long comment. This was a really interesting read.

  18. Oh my, is all I can say! And even if I cannot entirely understand how it must feel to be called fake it really pisses me off and makes me feel offended, for some wierd reason.

Well, that 'manger-thingie' must have misunderstood one pretty vital thing about you and you blogging, and that's that your readers (at least me) follow you because of you style COMBINED with you personality.

Love your blog, don't let things like this get to you =)

  24. OH! I watched the Romanian TV show and I was like, "How did they get the idea that Lhouraii has anything to do with Barbie?" That was so weird.

The Russian Barbie girl is pretty but I like your style better! <3

  25. Wow. What the hell? Also why would they want you with them if they still needed you to change so much into like them? I would've never thought about the connection because to me you have your own Li style. But people are ignorant and not knowing the ever-changing and freedom of fashion so well makes people judge who had the style first and whatnot.

  26. Like whuuut, for real? Some people told me i wanted to be as Xia xue cause i like to blog blabla its not the same tho but it's so fucking annoying how people can act like you are trying to be someone, when you're not. Did i say that right? Hahah. And you dont need to change your face & body.

  33. The moment you mentioned that this person asked you to act "weird" I was done. Even if they were legitimate that is unprofessional and completely uncalled for.

  34. i think you are unlike the other dolls, in that you are willing to give credit to those who have inspired you. rather than claiming to be natural (and taking it to the extent of "im so natural im not even from this world") is way more courageous and awesome. being open about how you became you and recognizing that this was not always how you were, i think takes a lot of courage.

  35. Please don't take this the wrong way, but could you please hook me up with whoever approached you and said they wanted to be your manager?

I have been spiritual since birth (this is the part of me that I usually shut up about because people love to disrespect and make fun of others), and I am also a vegetarian animal lover. So basicly I have what they're looking for.

Only problem is that I'm ugly as hell. Even with a shitload of makeup I look like... Well, shit. But if they offer to pay for plastic surgery, my ugliness wouldn't be a problem for long, would it?
